has studied artistic interpretations of Mary throughout the ages. She
will explain the inspirations behind these images, and their historical
contexts, and provide valuable new insights that will enlighten your
understanding of religious artworks, whether you encounter them while
traveling or perhaps have just overlooked them in your everyday
surroundings. Thomas holds a master's degree in theology in religion
and the arts, and has taught numerous courses on art and Mary at the
Dominican School of Philosophy & Theology and at St. Mary's College.

Facing the Climate Challenge — What You and We Can Do

This talk will focus on what you as a person and we as a society can do to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and put the world on a more sustainable path You will leave the event with concrete actions you can take to help solve this most difficult of issues. The talk will draw upon Koomey's 25 years of research and experience on solving the climate problem.
Dr. Koomey serves on the Editorial Board of the journal Contemporary Economic Policy, and has appeared on Nova/Frontline, BBC radio, CNBC, All Things Considered, Marketplace, On the Media, Tech Nation, The California Report, Uncommon Knowledge, Tech TV, CNET radio, and KQED radio. He is coauthor of the book Winning the Oil Endgame, published by the Rocky Mountain Institute.
